A Problem Arises...

I've noticed two things:

1. Circular needles hate me. 'nuff said.

2. I need more sizes in DPNs. All I have is US 3s, and I need a wider variety in order to make the projects I need. And I've been wondering, is it possible to add extra DPNs to make larger circles in order to make hats and stuff? I have 8 size 3s, and have been tempted to try it. I'm just afraid of getting confused... I may try it one day...

So, umm... Yeah.

This is along the lines of what I need:

We went to Hobby Lobby last night and I found a lot of stuff I want but can't afford right now. I'm also trying to keep myself from buying any yarn until I actually have a project in line for it. I have a hefty stash now thanks to mareofearth.

Right now, I'm knitting a sweater on DPNs for the ferret. She's so small that even the smallest clothes from Petco don't fit her well, so I'm going to give it a shot of making some for her myself. Once I find out the right size, I plan on getting a bit more adventurous with it. The nice thing is I can even use just small balls of scrap yarn for her rather than having to use larger skeins or project yarn. ^_^

We don't have a local store that I know of, but I'll mark the page so I can see about ordering a set later. Thanks! <3

I've been knitting anything I try on just a set of 4. It works out, since I'm often having to use heavier yarns for some of the stuff I fiddle with. I don't have any actual sock yarn, and I'm trying to remind myself I need to sort through my stash before I buy any more yarns. It's a good thing I'm about to start teaching a crochet class. I can provide some of the yarn!

Pretty much the only places I know of and can get to is Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, and Tuesday Morning. There are some stores in Huntsville (about an hour drive or more) and there's supposed to be one in Gadsden, but I don't know where...

Don't know if you've seen this:

Lotte USA, Inc., Battle Creek, MI initiated a recall of all Koalas' March Cookies on September 29, 2008 because they were produced in China and they may be contaminated with melamine. The products are packaged in a plastic overwrap.

Hi, It's nice to meet you. :-)
I hope you don't mind me jumping in.

The only time I use DPN's is the set of five I sometimes use for sock knitting, but I know a woman who knits large adult sweaters with DPN's. She uses quite a few. She told me though that when she has to use a large number of DPN's on a project that she will sometimes use point protectors on them to keep them from slipping out of the work.

That's to bad that you are having so much trouble with circulars. Could it be that you just don't like that brand (not all circulars are created equal) or is it all circulars you don't like?
